You can easily reach Munich by S-Bahn (rapid transit railway). Within 45 minutes (40km) you are in the heart of the city – directly at Marienplatz!

Balloon flights

Go on a flight with a hot-air balloon over the beautiful 5-lakes district. From a height of 150m to 3,000m, enjoy the impressive panorama of the Alps and the view onto the five lakes, including the Ammersee. Depending on the wind, a balloon flight takes between 1 and 1½ hours. The spacious basket offers each passenger an undisturbed view.

Markt Dießen am Ammersee (12 km)

Located across from Herrsching on the lake’s western shore, along the lakeside promenade toward St. Alban, Utting and Schondorf, sailing center, renowned pottery and pewter-works.

The stunning Marienmünster with its grand, South-German Rococo architecture is located 15 minutes by foot from the shore.

Starnberg (19 km)

Adminstrative capital of the Five Lakes District, located at the northern end of Starnberger See (the largest of the five lakes), lakeside promenade, boat tours.

Raisting (15 km)

Earth station of Telekom, telephone lines and TV broadcast via satellite to all parts of the world. Opening times: Monday-Friday 9am to noon and 1pm to 5pm.

Very well preserved medieval town with partially preserved fortification, guided city tour, museum of the painter Hubert von Herkomer (1849-1914).

Kaltenberg bei Geltendorf (30 km)

Schloss Kaltenberg (castle of the house Wittelsbach), well known brewery with tavern, Kaltenberg Knights’ Tournament in the summer.
